
Ta da! Here it is, the final "family art project" of the year. To compensate for first graders not having a real art class with a real art teacher, every month our family was required to create art together.
Yes, I can see the philosphy behind this. Yes, I can see how this could be a good thing. But really, when you view the finished projects on the bulletin board, these are the things you learn:
2 moms own glue guns
1 mom is a serious scrapbooker
3 families made the older siblings responsible for the project
2 kids don't have any help or art supplies beyond crayons :(
I am proud of our flower - definitely the best one of the nine projects we did all year. James was proud too - he wrote on his report that it was great, awesome & terrific.
